New City Presbyterian Church
New City Presbyterian Church serves the east side neighborhoods of Cincinnati, Ohio. Church leaders were looking to save money on electrical costs, but equally important to them was stewarding their resources. Since the inception of New City in 2009, a priority was placed on demonstrating the gospel, both in word and action. According to New City, “We believe caring for the earth is one way we love both God and our neighbors. Our solar installation is intended to do just that. By investing in renewable energy for our church building, we’re joining in God’s work of creation care and giving a glimpse of the hope we have in Christ who is making all things new.”
New City’s roof mount solar installation at its Cincinnati, Ohio, was completed in late 2025. This is a 81.8 kW-DC standing seam metal roof mount array, generating 105,384 kWh of solar PV energy in year one, which makes up 54.3% of the church’s energy consumption! The installation of their solar array on the roof above the Great Hall is visible from the ground, making New City’s commitment to environmental stewardship obvious to congregants and the community.
