Lexmark has successfully completed the installation of a 2-megawatt solar array at its global headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, marking a significant step in its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2035. The solar array is projected to generate over 3.3 million kWh of clean energy in its first year of operation, which is equivalent to preventing the greenhouse gas emissions from nearly six million miles driven by an average passenger vehicle.

The array, which was completed by Melink Solar, not only supports Lexmark’s sustainability goals but also offers educational opportunities for the local community. The project features an adjacent greenspace that includes walking trails, a wildlife habitat, a butterfly garden, and a pollinator flower garden. Local school groups will have the chance to tour the space and learn about renewable energy, while power generation analytics will be displayed in Lexmark’s customer engagement center.

In addition to its environmental benefits, the solar array project reinforces Lexmark’s role as a corporate leader in sustainability. The company continues to create positive change through community engagement and investments in green initiatives. By powering its headquarters with renewable energy, Lexmark is not only reducing its carbon footprint but also fostering an environmentally conscious future for the next generation.
