Queen City Forging
Founded in 1881, Queen City Forging has continuously evolved to serve a wide range of industries by investing in advanced manufacturing capabilities and sustainable operations. Over the past 15 years, the company converted both gas-fired process heating to electric induction and electric infrared heating to improve product quality, enhance sustainability, and reduce their carbon footprint., prompting customers to ask what more could be done. Queen City Forging furthered its sustainability goals and hedge against rising energy costs by partnering with Melink Solar to install a bifacial rooftop solar panel system. Despite structural constraints identified during planning, Melink Solar delivered a custom-engineered solution that preserved roof integrity while maximizing kWh output. Since installation, Queen City Forging has increased energy efficiency, reduced reliance on non-renewable power, and achieved meaningful cost savings, with additional sustainability initiatives planned.
