What does the process look like – and how do I begin?
Getting started with commercial solar is simpler than many people expect. At Melink Solar, we’ve designed our process to be clear, consultative, and hands-on from day one. Here’s how it works:
Step-by-Step: How to Start a Solar Project
Step | What to Expect |
1. Contact Us | Visit www.melinksolar.com or call us directly. We’ll talk through your facility, goals, and any existing energy data. |
2. Share 12 Months of Electric Bills | This helps us assess your energy usage patterns, identify opportunities for solar offset and demand reduction, and accurately display cost savings based on your utility rate structure. |
3. Site Evaluation | For rooftops: we review structural drawings and roof condition. For ground-mounts or canopies: we evaluate land use, soil type, access, and shading. |
4. Design & Budgeting | We’ll develop a conceptual system design, production estimate, and firm pricing – usually valid for 30–60 days depending on market conditions. |
5. Proposal & Contracting | If you decide to move forward, Melink Solar handles the heavy lifting – from engineering and procurement to permitting, utility interconnection, and final commissioning. |
Need help gathering usage data? We can assist with requesting utility records or onboarding energy tracking software during initial discovery.
